This is a stylish sterling silver bowl made by Georg Jensen during the 1930's and designed by Harald Nielson.
It has an appealing simple circular form with a planished (spot hammered) finish in the arts and crafts tradition. It is a good-sized bowl with many practical functions and is raised from the table by a ring foot. The underside bears a multitude of marks including Jensen's 1930's period "GJ" smithy stamp, Nielson's "HN" design mark, the company's "580A" catalogue number and London import hallmarks for 1938.
