Sorry, this item is out of stock.

York-made silver is scarce and this is an especially rare piece in the form of a travelling communion set.

Comprising a communion cup or chalice with matching paten, both pieces in this set were made by the parnership of Barber and North and identically marked for the York assay office in 1843. The pieces are engraved with the "IHS" christogram (monogram for the name "Jesus"), together with a cross and three nails to represent the crucifixion.

This a fine quality pairing with both pieces having a good, strong feeling and the gilding to the cup interior just adds to the high calibre. They can be carried separately and fit together beautifully. The condition is excellent with nothing negative to report.
