Wine Label - WHITE WINE; Cushion-shape - London circa 1760 by Edmund Medlycott - 4.8cm wide - MR/3568
This very attractive mid-18th century White Wine label bears crisp "EM" maker's mark for Edmund Medleycott and a clear post 1755 lion passant mark. The label is in the transitional shape between the escutcheon form and the rectangle which is usually referred to as "cushion-shaped". It is in fine condition throughout.
This label is illustrated in "Wine Labels 1730-2003" edited by John Salter as figure 156.
