Wine Label - Ceres; Rectangular with Gadroon Border - London circa 1770 by Margaret Binley - 5.2cm wide; 12g - JN/3254</p>

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This label takes the standard rectangular form of the 1760's and early 1770's, but bears the very rare title "CERES". Hanging from its original belcher chain, this label is in excellent condition, albeit scratched to the reverse side and bears two clear "MB" maker's marks of this specialist lady silversmith.

"Ceres" is likely to be a variation of Xeres or Jerez i.e. Sherry.
