Wine Label - Vin De Grave - Dublin circa 1807/8 by John Egan or James England - 4.3cm x 2.3cm - TY/5068</p>

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This rectangular wine label has the desirable combination of a rare name and maker on an Irish label. The IE makers mark is either for James England or John Egan of Cork and the date can be quite accurately - the inclusion of a duty mark dates it to at least 1807 and the shape of the punch to pre-1809. The label is in good order throughout.

Graves is a sub-region of the wine growing area around Bordeaux and is situated on the left bank of the Garonne, upstream from the city of Bordeaux.
