Spout-hanging silver tea strainers are rare and this is a fine example made by Rawlings and Summers.

Dating from the early years of the Victorian period, this silver tea strainer has a pierced, conial form with swing handle connected to a split pin that is inserted inside a teapot spout so that when pouring tea the leaves are collected. This excellent example if in fine condition with good hallmarks (a little wear to the maker's mark).
