Mote Spoon - Apostle-top - London 1856 by George Fox - 16cm long; 28g - ED/5352

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is an unusually late example of an antique mote spoon. Most silver mote spoons date from 1700-1770 and this is a mid-Victorian example made by the top silversmith, George Fox.

The twisted stem of the spoon is topped by a cast apostle finial and the bowl is beautifully pierced with scrolls and crosslets in typical mote spoon style. The spoon is in excellent condition. The hallmarks are located to the back of the bowl and are partly pierced out.
