Victorian Silver & Glass Claret Jug, 1876

Claret Jugs are rarely as beautiful as this fine Victorian example.

Made in Sheffield by Fenton Brothers, this attractively shaped glass wine ewer is engraved all over the bulbous base with a dazzling display of stars. The stylish hallmarked silver mounts include a beautifully made long, elegant handle and hinged silver cover with bead mounts.

With a capacity of 1 litre, this jug is ample big enough for a full bottle of wine and it is in fine condition throughout.
