Brandy Pan - Round with Wooden Handle and Lift-off Cover - London 1809 by Emes & Barnard - 21.5cm handle to spout tip; 13cm high; 435g gross weight - UT/8577

This is a great example of a good-sized Georgian silver brandy pan, complete with original cover.

The brandy pan comes complete with an original wooden handle and finial to protect the user from heat. The snug fitting silver cover has a hinged flap for the spout so that it can stayed closed when standing still to maintain the heat, but automatically opens when pouring. The condition is excellent with hallmarks to the underside which for some reason omits the maker's mark, but the RE/EB mark for Emes & Barnard is clearly stamped on the rim of the cover.
