Sorry, this item is out of stock.

A superb James I period apostle spoon in fine original condition. The apostle depicted is St Peter holding a key with an unusual combination of saltire and St George cross to the nimbus. The spoon has an excellent bowl; retaining its original size, shape and form with no signs of any wear. The hallmarks are superb with a clear lion's head to the bowl and crisp maker's mark ("IS" conjoined), lion passant and date letter. A fantastic all round example of a 17thC apostle spoon.

Provenance: This spoon was formerly in the Britton-Smith collection of early spoons.
