Silver Fork with Citrine, Ballater by William Robb
Sold
Fork - Citrine Terminal - Edinburgh 1918 by William Robb of Ballater - 9.7cm long; 5g - TR/3491
This silver pickle or olive fork was made by the famous William Robb of Ballater.
With Ballater's close proximity to the royal residence at Balmoral House, the thistle-shaped citrine to the terminal of this fork is typical of the Scottish themed silver sold by Robb from his shop in the early 20th century. The fork is clearly marked with Edinburgh hallmarks, the "BLTR" mark for Ballater and Robb's "W.R" maker's mark. A fine fork and attractive piece of Scottish provincial silver.
