This is an outstanding piece of silver by Omar Ramsden - a large, shagreen covered casket with silver mounts.
This beautiful casket has a domed, hinged cover with silver fleur de lys to each corner. The main body has ropework and castellated borders, and stands on four Art Deco stepped feet. The interior is wood lined and the whole piece is covered with shagreen and just exudes the very highest quality. It is quite stunning!
The condition is excellent throughout with each component piece appropriately hallmarked and the "Omar Ramsden Me Fecit" legend to the underside.
Provenance: The Wood Hall Collection of Omar Ramsden - Christies Interiors, 23rd September 2008 (lot 219) where it sold for £6875. We also have the matching compact in stock (sold as lot 217).
