This is a fabulous George III Scottish silver table spoon in superb condition with original crest and motto to the front terminal.
Made in Edinburgh by the top maker Patrick Robertson, this Celtic Point table spoon is clearly hallmarked to the reverse side. The front is engraved with a crest of a hand holding aloft a crosier above a knight's helmet and surmounted by the Latin motto "Per Varios Casus" ("by various fortunes"). This is the crest and motto of the Lammie clan.
This is a fine quality spoon with a good hefty weight in the hand and just look at the thick bowl tip! Superb condition throughout!
