This is a fine quality Scottish silver table spoon with a good hefty weight.
This Hanoverian table spoon was made in Edinburgh and is bottom-struck with clear Scottish hallmarks for 1767, including the complex Gothic script IW maker's mark for John Welsh. The reverse terminal bears original engraved initials and the overall condition is excellent including a thick tip to the bowl which is testament to the thick gauge of silver used in ithe spoon's manufacture. A fine piece of 18th century Scottish silver.
