Dessert Spoon - Fiddle Pattern - Forres circa 1830 by James & Patrick Riach - 17.9cm long; 34g - QZ/6527

This very rare piece of Scottish provincial silver was made in Forres in the workshop of James & Patrick Riach.

It is a fiddle pattern silver dessert spoon that bears an original engraved crest to the terminal. It is struck with three clear punches to the reverse: "Tower", "IPR" "Tower".

This Scottish dessert spoon remains in excellent condition with a good patina and thick, unworn bowl tip.

Forres is a town and former royal burgh situated in the north of Scotland on the Moray coast, approximately 25 miles east of Inverness.
