Scottish Provincial Marrow Scoop, Aberdeen c1770
Sold
Marrow Scoop - Double-ended - Aberdeen circa 1770 by James Wildgoose - 22.1cm long; 46g - GU/7081
This is a rare example of a Scottish provincial silver marrow scoop.
Taking the usual double-ended form, this good quality marrow scoop is cleanly struck with "ABD" and "IW" marks denoting the maker James Wildgoose of Aberdeen who was working during the 1770's. The scoop has a good heavy weight and features a double-heel to the back of the larger scoop. The condition is excellent throughout.
