Sampson Mordan Silver Owl Scent Bottle, 1879

This stunning novelty silver perfume or scent bottle was made by Sampson Mordan and is in the form of a wide-eyed owl.

The phial is superbly modelled and has a screw-off head that is corked to prevent leakage and can be removed for accessing the perfume. There is a retainer loop to the top for carrying the piece from a chain. A full set of London hallmarks are located to the underside and include the sought after "SM" maker's mark for Sampson Mordan.

This owl scent bottle is in excellent, crisp condition with nothing negative to report.
