Novelty 'Duck' Silver Cream Jug, 1868 George Fox
£895.00
Cream Jug - 'Duck' - London 1868 by George Fox - 12.5cm long; 6.3cm high; 101g - EC/5471
This is a wonderful novelty piece of Victorian silver from the premier London silversmith George Fox.
Beautifully modelled as a swimming duck, this is a good sized, antique silver cream jug with a nice chunky feel in the hand. The tail-end of the bird acts as a pouring spout. The duck retains some of its original gilding to the feathers and head and is fully hallmarked to the underside.
A fabulous piece of Victorian ingenuity in fine condition.
