This is a stunning Edwardian period silver caster in the Art Nouveau taste made by the important art & crafts silversmithing partnership of Omar Ramsden & Alwyn Carr.

This good-sized, hand-made caster would be ideal for sugar or for use as a muffineer - see photo with soft drinks can for an idea of size. It is capstan-shaped encircled by ropework bands and sinuous scroll and ball buttresses with spot hammering from the hand-raising process evident throughout and a pull-off domed cover.

This fantastic quality piece has clear London hallmarks for 1909 and is additionally engraved 'OMAR RAMSDEN ET ALWYN CARR ME FECERUNT' to the underside. It is in excellent condition throughout.
