Archibald Knox Silver Mustard Pot, 1903
£850.00
Mustard Pot - Art Nouveau - Birmingham 1903 by Liberty & Co. - 7cm high; 67g silver (101g gross weight) - JN/2845
Designed by Archibald Knox, this mustard pot is an early example from Liberty's Cymric range of silverware.
This small, Edwardian silver mustard pot has a beautiful mixture of arts & crafts techniques combined with the flowing lines of Art Nouveau design. It stands on three hoof feet and is chased with stylised flowers on a hand-beaten background with the flower-heads cleverly rising above the rim and appearing on the hinged cover.
The original blue glass liner is present (slight chip to the edge) and the mustard pot is in fine condition with clear Liberty & Co hallmarks to the underside.
