Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This a good quality Queen Anne period silver salt pot made by Thomas Ash a specialist salt pot maker.

This trencher-style, octagonal salt cellar has a good chunky feel in the hand and is engraved to one side with a monogram and to the other with a crest. The monogram is a cleverly designed block mirrored cipher which is typical for the period and as always is tricky to work out, and the crest depicts an engraved stag.

The Britannia standard hallmarks to the underside are legible and feature the "Ash" mark showing the surname of the maker in full. This a great example of a Queen period silver salt pot in excellent condition.
