This is a lovely Victorian silver caddy spoon made in Newcastle by Reid & Sons.

The spoon has the King's pattern shape, is beautifully engraved to both sides and bears an original script monogram to the front. The fluted bowl just adds to the feeling of high quality. The Newcastle hallmarks are clearly stamped to the reverse and include the crowned "DR" mark for David Reid.

Reid & Sons are the famous Newcastle upon Tyne retailers of luxury goods. They were founded in 1788 and continue in business today.
