Newcastle Silver Table Spoon, 1778
£225.00
Table Spoon - Old Englilsh with Shoulders Pattern - Newcastle 1778 by J Langlands & J Robertson - 22.5cm long; 71g - EB/7617
This is a first class example of a Georgian silver table spoon from Newcastle - just look at the clarity of the hallmarks and the very thick bowl tip!
Made in the scarce Old English with Shoulders pattern, this north country table spoon is superbly engraved with decorative script initials enhanced with further flourishes. It was made by the important partnership of John Langlands and John Robertson (maker's mark double-struck). The spoon has a nice feeling of quality with good, antique patina and a great set of hallmarks.
