Sold
Egg Cruet for Four - Sheffield 1868 by Richard Martin & Ebenezer Hall - 17.5cm diameter; 15.5cm high; 587g combined weight - DG/3696
Silver egg cruets are relatively scarce and very rarely found to be as attractive as this one... plus a major bonus is the presence of all the original components!
This Victorian egg set comprises a stand with carrying handle, four egg cups and four egg spoons with each of them bearing matching hallmarks - in fact including butterfly nuts, pegs etc, there are a total of nineteen components with amazingly each one being stamped with an appropriate hallmark!
The Aesthetic style engraving is truly beautiful with a lovely depiction of floral tendrils amongst pierced trellis work. The set was made by Martin & Hall of Sheffield and is in superb condition.
