Sorry, this item is out of stock.

Measuring 13" long, this fabulous silver serving trowel has the major bonus of being in excellent condition (the majority of surviving examples are either damaged or repaired).

This George II period serving piece has a triangular-shaped blade that is made from a good gauge of silver and has been superbly pierced and engraved. The reverse side bears an original engraved crest giving some indication of its rich heritage. The elegantly turned wooden handle fits in to a sleeve sleeve that terminates in a cast shell where attached to the blade.

The trowel was made by the premier silversmith William Plummer and has a superb set of clear hallmarks to the reverse side. A fabulous piece of mid-18th century silver.
