Peterhead Silver Dessert Spoon, c.1820 Wm Ferguson
£850.00
Dessert Spoon - Fiddle Pattern - Peterhead circa 1820 by William Ferguson - 18cm long; 31g - SK/6808
This is a very rare Scottish provincial silver dessert spoon made in Peterhead by William Ferguson.
Peterhead is one of the holy grail centres for Scottish provinical silver with the "PHD" stamp rarely seen. This fiddle pattern spoon is stamped with a clear example and the "WF" maker's mark struck twice. The spoon is in excellent condition with a thick bowl tip and no personal engravings (nor erasures).
As good an example of Peterhead silver as you are likely to find!
