Table Spoon - Old English Pattern - London 1790 by Peter & Jonathan Bateman - 22.6cm long; 63g - CD/6431

Silver made by the partnership of Peter and Jonathan Bateman is rare and this antique silver table spoon bears their sought after PB/IB maker's mark (slight wear).

This Old English pattern spoon is engraved to the front terminal with an original script initial "H". The spoon is in fine condition with a good patina.

Peter and his brother Jonathan were sons of the famous Hester Bateman and their short lived partnership was cut short due to the premature death of Jonathan. All pieces with their makers mark bear the date letter "p" for 1790/1 as they worked for only 6 months during this date letter year.
