Serving Platter - Shaped Circular with Gadroon Mount- London 1796 by Paul Storr - 29.7cm diameter; 735g - TH/4757
Measuring 12" in diameter, this is a fine quality silver plate by Paul Storr that would be ideal as a buffet serving platter or for presenting a roast joint.
The circular plate is engraved to the border with an original armorial and has a bold, gadroon rim. To the underside is a clear set of London hallmarks that include the cherished "PS" maker's mark of the great Paul Storr. The weight is indicative of the highest quality that one would expect from the greatest English silversmith of the 19th century and dating from the late 18th century is a great example of his earliest work. This platter has a good antique patina and remains in excellent condition.
