Sorry, this item is out of stock.

These are an excellent pair of mid-18th century Scottish silver table spoons in the Hanoverian pattern.

Both spoons have a good, hefty weight in the hand and have good unworn bowls. They are engraved to the reverse terminals with a script letter "K" with a coronet surmount. The four visible pearls to the coronet indicate that these spoons once belonged to a Baron or Baroness of a Lord or Lady of Parliament and their quality is deserving of this provenance.

The spoons bear bottom-struck Edinburgh hallmarks for 1758 and were made by the maker "RG" in script (probably for Robert Gordon). The "HG" mark indicated the mark of the Assay Master Hugh Gordon. There is some minor wear to the hallmarks and to the engraving, but overall these spoons are in fine antique condition.
