Pair of Scottish Silver Table Spoons, 1759 by John Clark
£190.00
Table Spoons (pair) - Hanoverian Pattern - Edinburgh 1759 by John Clark - 21.5cm long; 147g combined weight - PW/5505a
These are an outstanding pair of mid-18th century Scottish silver table spoons in superb condition.
The original, thick bowl tips immediately illustrate the fine, heavy quality of the pieces and their excellent state of preservation. The reverse terminals bear original engraved ciphers and the Hanoverian stems have long heels to the underside of the bowls.
The Edinburgh hallmarks are extremely crisp too with clear 1759 date letters (gothic style "E") and the maker's CLARK surname in full. John Clark was working in Edinburgh between 1751 and 1771. An excellent pair of silver table spoons!
