Pair of Leslie Durbin Silver Serving Spoons, 1949

Serving Spoons (pair) - London 1949 by Leslie Durbin - 23cm long; 204g combined weight - RY/7094a
This is a beautiful pair of late Art Deco silver serving spoons by Leslie Durbin.
The spoon possess the sleak lines of Scandinavia-influenced post-war designs, in addition to the arts & crafts styled rattails to the reverse of the bowls that follow the same pattern as those produced by Durbin's teacher, Omar Ramsden. Post-war austerity meant that very little English silver was produced and pieces from the 1940's remain rare with these two providing good examples of the in-vogue, simple styles that predominated the limited production.
These 9" long serving spoons have a good, chunky feel in the hand and remain in excellent condition with clear LGD maker's marks.
