Pair of Hester Bateman Silver Sauce Ladles, 1785

This is a lovely pair of silver sauce ladles by the important lady silversmith Hester Bateman.

Finding pairs of ladles by this maker is extremely tricky and these are a great pair. The two ladles are in the Old English pattern with deep, circular bowls. They are in excellent condition and benefit from having no personalised engravings nor any erasures. The reverse sides are stamped with clear London hallmarks and include both the iconic "HB" in script makers mark and the incuse duty mark that was used during 1785/86.
