Caddy Spoon - Scallop Bowl; Bright-cut Engraved Handle - London 1785 by Hester Bateman - 7.4cm long - MF/6207

Hester Bateman produced many beautiful silver caddy spoons and this is a trademark example of her style.

The spoon features a scallop-shaped bowl and bright-cut engraved handle with vacant cartouche. The London hallmarks include the scarce incuse duty mark and most importantly a great example of the iconic "HB" in script maker's mark for the "Queen of English Silversmiths". This caddy spoon remains in fine condition.
