Table Spoons (pair) - Old English Pattern - Glasgow circa 1775 by Adam Graham - 22.2cm long; 159g combined weight - LM/5691

These are a fine pair of Scottish provincial silver table spoons with good marks for Glasgow prior to the opening of the assay office in the 19th century.

These Old English pattern spoons are engraved to the terminals with original script monograms and have a very stylish form. The condition is superb (just look at those thick bowl tips!) and the quality top notch with a nice hefty feel in the hand.

The reverse of the stems are stamped twice with the Glasgow city marks and twice with the AG maker's mark for Adam Graham. For a small stamp the city mark holds a lot of detail as part of Glasgow's armorial; featuring an oak tree with a robin on top, a bell hanging from the branches and a salmon on its back below.
