£128.00
Sugar Sifter Spoon - Onslow Pattern - London 1792 by George Wintle - 14cm long; 23 grams - EH/5773
This is a scarce example of a late 18th century Onslow pattern silver sugar sifter spoon.
Dating from the reign of King George III this spoon has a beautifully fluted and cleverly pierced bowl - just look at the detail in the close-up photo! The cast scroll terminal is in the highly desirable Onslow Pattern, so named in honour of Arthur Onslow the popular speaker of the House of Commons.
The reverse of the stem bears clear London hallmarks for the specialist spoonmaker George Wintle. A great spoon in excellent condition.
