Omar Ramsden Silver Wine Goblet, London 1927

Wine Goblet - London 1927 by Omar Ramsden - 11.8cm tall; 150g - AQ/5860
This is a beautifully modelled silver wine goblet made by Omar Ramsden in a mediaeval style.
The goblet has been hand-made and the quality of craftsmanship is evident throughout from the all over spot hammered finish in the arts & crafts style, to the soft gilt interior and to the nice weight, feel and balance in the hand. The knop below the cup is finely decorated with the Staff of Hermes caduceus symbol of medicine and the Tudor rose.
Omar Ramsden was the greatest English silversmith of the 20th century and this goblet is signed with his trademark "Omar Ramsden Me Fecit" to the underside of the foot. It is in lovely original condition and bears a good set of London hallmarks.
