The Service

We are pleased to be a lovely quality silver cutlery service in Old English by the highly regarded Walker & Hall. The service provides for five pieces per 12 place settings with additional table spoons and sauce ladles for serving purposes.

All the pieces are fully hallmarked for Walker & Hall and the majority date from Sheffield 1916 - the soup spoons are a little later - 1929/30. All pieces benefit from having no personalised engravings to them and are in excellent polished condition.

We have purposefully left out knives from this canteen to give greater flexibility to the buyer. Bone handled knives would complement this service, as would second-hand or new silver handled Old English knives. If necessary, we can generally supply any of these options - a photograph is shown of a sample place setting for the option with silver handled knives.

Old English Pattern

Old English Pattern was first introduced circa 1770 and has always been a very favoured pattern due to its elegant and simple form. It has been produced continually to the present day with a resurgence of popularity in the early 20^th Century.

Optional Extras

Knives - we can supply table and dessert knives with either bone or silver handles. 24 new silver handled knives with Old English pattern handles will cost £1320. Please enquire for availability of second hand silver handled knives or for "bone" handled knives.

Extra Items: We can augment the number of all pieces in this service with matching Walker & Hall pieces. Prices on request.

Serving Items: We have a large selection serving items in old English Pattern from small salt spoons to large soup ladles.
 

Condition

Excellent polished condition throughout.

Presentation

This canteen is offered in old Royal purple anti-tarnish cutlery rolls. These rolls have individual pockets to hold 12 items per roll.
