Nipple Shield - London 1804 by Phipps & Robinson - 5.5cm diameter; 16g - RT/6354</p>
This is a rare Georgian nipple shield (aka nipple guard) made by one of the premier small-worker partnerships of the early 19th century. These objects were made almost exclusively in the first quarter of the 19th Century and protected women during breast feeding in the days that babies were not weaned until their first teeth arrived! This example is fine condition.
