The "mussel" is the most exquisite of all antique silver caddy spoons and this is a fantastic example.
Designed and made by Francis Higgins, the most innovative specialist spoon maker of the Victorian period, this caddy spoon has the bowl cleverly modelled as a deep mussel shell and is attached to a gilt handle with lily pad tendrils.
This spoon is in excellent condition and is a most wonderful example. A true prize for any silver collection!
