Mote Spoon - Rattail - London circa 1725 by Hugh Arnett & Edward Pocock - 14cm long; 7.5g - SR/6746

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is a fine example of an early 18th century silver mote spoon. The spoon can easily be dated to the George I reign from the following features: the presence of the rattail to the reverse of the bowl, the simple drilled holes to the bowl and the distinctive makers mark H/AE/P (Grimwade ref. 993; mark active 1720 - 1728). The large maker's mark would not fit completely on the stem and so is partly mis-struck. A good spoon in all around fine condition.
