This straight sided George I period mug is a miniature copy of the full size mugs found at this date. The mug bears an original initial within a garter to the front. It bears marks for David Clayton who was a specialist maker of miniature and toy silver during the early decades of the 18th century. The "DC" makers mark is located under the base and a lion passant can be found on the body just below the rim. The mug is in fine condition.
