Mary Chawner Caddy Spoon, 1834
Sold
Caddy Spoon - Fiddle, Thread & Shell pattern - London 1834 by Mary Chawner - 11.2cm long; 35g - TE/9526
This is a fine quality silver tea caddy spoon made by Mary Chawner during the William IV period.
For its size, the spoon has a very hefty weight and the engraved crest to the front terminal is a further sign of its rich heritage. The double-struck fiddle, thread & shell decoration remains crisp throughout and the bowl has a lovely fluted design.
An excellent antique spoon in fine condition, by a top lady silversmith.
