Spoon - Naturalistic Handle - London 1934 by Omar Ramsden - 20.3cm long; 96g - CF/1442

Omar Ramsden made some sumptuous silver spoons, but this example is among the very best.

At 8" long it is an impressive size and the weight of 3 tr.oz just adds to the feeling of superior, high quality. The spoon has been beautifully designed with a tendril looping around the naturalistic stem and terminating in a cast, wrythen finial. The deep, hammered bowl has a trifurcated extension to the stem on the underside.

This is a truly fabulous spoon made by the greatest UK silversmith of the 20th century and it really is a cut above the rest.
