This is a fabulous quality silver-gilt wine label in the form of a scallop shell. The label is cast and was made by one of the premier silversmithing partnerships of the period, Rebecca Emes and Edward Barnard and this partnership evolved in to the large and important manufacturers, Barnards. The label has a very satisfying hefty weight and hangs from a heavy gauge belcher chain. The scallop is a scarce form and one of the most pleasing on the eye.
