This is a spectacular piece of Ramsden and Carr silver in the form of a large 6.7" tall sugar caster.
Dating from the First World War, this stylishly shaped, antique caster has an all-over spot hammered finish in the best traditions of the Arts & Crafts movement. It has a good hefty weight and feels wonderful to hold. It has a pierced, domed, pull-off cover with a matching hallmark to the main body. The underside of the foot is engraved with "Omar Ramsden Et Alwyn Carr Me Fecerunt" and the caster is in fabulous condition.
