Caddy Spoon - Deep-bowled; Thumb Handle - Birmingham 1804 by Joseph Taylor - 6cm long; 7.3g - LP/1145

Joseph Taylor was an expert and innovative maker of silver caddy spoons and this example is one of his best.

Made to be ergonomically useful with a deep bowl and a handle with concave underside to fit beautifully in the hand, this spoon both looks great and works perfectly. It is attractively decorated with a band of wriggle-work alongside the serrated bowl rim and a pleasing, engraved handle with vacant cartouche.

This lovely-looking spoon is in excellent original condition.
