Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is a rare Jersey-made silver basting spoon with the mark for Thomas de Gruchy.

This 12" long, high quality fiddle pattern spoon is ideal for many purposes including basting meat at the table and serving purposes. It was during the George IV period by Thomas de Gruchy (maker's mark "TDG") who was working as a silversmith in Jersey between 1822 and 1831 when he was joined by John le Gallais in partnership.

This large spoon has a good heavy weight and is in excellent oiginal condition with a superb thick tip to the bowl and two beautifully engraved sets of initials in script to the front terminal.
