Measuring over 11" long, this excellent Scottish provincial silver stuffing spoon is clearly struck with Banff marks to the reverse and includes the rare and sought after "salmon" mark.
This superb spoon was made by John Keith (IK maker's mark) in the early years of the 19th century and is in the fiddle pattern with Scottish proportions (i.e. an elongated fiddle terminal). This type of long spoon can be referrred to as a stuffing, basting, gravy or long-handled server. The front terminal is engraved with an original script letter "L".
The spoon is in excellent original condition with a thick bowl tip and antique patina.
