Straining Spoon - Celtic Point with Bright-cut Star - Dublin 1796 by John Power - 31.5cm long; 123g - DK/5028

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

Used for serving vegetables and straining them from liquid, silver straining spoons are quite a scarce item and this is a particularly fine example. This 12"+ long example can be immediately seen to be Irish with the bright-cut star engraved design to the Celtic point shape. It carries a clear set of late 18th century Dublin hallmarks to the reverse side and the engraving remains crisp throughout. The strainer section is pierced and the engraved pattern on the top section follows on from the design on the handle. This is a fabulous example of an Irish silver straining spoon and it is in fine condition throughout.
