Irish Hook-end Basting Spoon, 1765

This is an excellent example of a mid-18th century Irish hook end silver basting spoon. It bears a very prominent engraved crest of a lion rampant to the front terminal and has a crisp set of hallmarks to the reverse, including the script maker's mark for David Peter (Bennett ref. 108). Fine all round condition and good patina.
